The Strouds

SSG Stroud and SPC Stroud are one of two father and son pairs deployed in Iraq with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 194th Engineer Brigade, Tennessee Army National Guard, of Jackson. The 194th was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 04-06 last January.

SSG Stroud is the vehicle driver and aide to Brigadier General Jimmy Welch, Commander of the 194th. SPC Stroud is a Surveyor in the Construction Management Section of the 194th. Both are residents of Milan. SSG Stroud is a self-employed cabinet builder and SPC Stroud is a college student. SSG Stroud is also a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

The other father and son pair with HHC is Sergeant First Class Ricky Houston and his son Specialist James Houston. They are from the Lexington, Tennessee area.
